DESCRIPTION:3 Muses Performance Collective (3MPC) is holding auditions for female identified storytellers for 3MPC’s inaugural event\, “3 Muses Storytelling: Small Moments”- an evening of Small Bites\, Small Moments\, and Big Stories on Jan 16th and 17th\, 2026.\nAuditions will be held on Saturday\, November 15th from 1PM – 4PM at Q-Staff Theatre\, located at 400 Broadway Blvd SE.  10-minute audition slots are available by appointment only.  Auditioners should prepare a short (approx. 5 min) story on any topic (related to “small moments” is encouraged\, but any stories welcome) and send a headshot and resume if available.  3 Muses has a mission to amplify women’s stories and casts without consideration to ability\, race\, ethnicity\, sexual orientation\, size\, or shape.  To schedule an audition spot\, email 3MPCABQ@gmail.com.\n\nPerformances January 16 and 17\, 2026 with rehearsals beginning in early December.  Storytellers will work with professional writers and producers to craft an engaging evening that focuses women’s voices on the topic of “Small Moments”.

DESCRIPTION:Dwelling: an Immersive Performance Event at q-Staff Theatre\nAlbuquerque\, NM – Dwelling is a one-night-only immersive performance event created\ncollaboratively by a group of local artists as part of an international project exploring themes of\nhome and belonging. Taking place on Saturday\, June 21 at 8:00 PM\, artists will transform q-Staff\nTheater into a living room cafe where scenes\, sounds\, storytelling\, and images unfold all around\nthem.\nBorn out of an intensive week-long group collaboration\, Dwelling asks: What\, who\, where is\nhome\, and why is it that way? “Home is one of those words that gets thrown around a lot\,” said\nTara Khozein\, one of the project’s co-leaders\, “but we are often thinking of completely different\nthings when we say it. Some people think of a building\, others think of a feeling\, others think of\na person. It makes us ask ourselves where we come from and what makes us feel safe.”\nThe performance features contributions from an interdisciplinary group of local artists and\neducators including: Diana Delgado\, Marisa DeMarco\, Esther Elia\, Kat Kinnick\, Mariel Leon\nLazcano\, Zahra Marwan\, Aziza Murray\, Hope Orange\, Graham Parker Ransell\, Rich Van\nSchouwen\, Nick Tauro\, and Sandy Timmerman.\nOver a week of collective work\, the artists will create pieces individually and collaboratively that\nemerge from these themes including: How do you create home; leaving home: travel &\nmigration; eviction\, statelessness\, and deportation; chosen home\, chosen family\, and banding\ntogether; who makes you feel at home; being a stranger in a society; sanctuary\nDwelling is a project under the leadership of New Mexico-raised classical singer and theater\nartist Tara Khozein and Hungarian director Martin Boross of Promenade: Albuquerque. Boross \nshared a more personal perspective: “In the past years\, my personal and political definitions of\nhome have become less stable. I was in Robertson & Sons Violin Shop in Albuquerque and speaking with one of the sons when he mentioned they were repairing one of Einstein’s violins. He asked if I’d like to see it. Of course\, I said\, “yes!” The violin was in pieces and looked rather ordinary. But\, I learned that Einstein had not only made simple repairs to his violin\, but had also left behind a tidbit of his sense of humor.  ~TS \nThe Story \nAccompanied by his favorite classical music\, Einstein begins to repair his precious violin\, ’Lina.’ All the while he talks to a soon to be revealed muse about his love for music and its influence on his life and work. Through Einstein’s words and the beautiful precision of a classical music we celebrate the coming together of art\, science\, and love. \n“I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music…I get (the) most joy in life out of music.”  Albert Einstein \nThe Times \nEnormous changes in the world were taking place during Einstein’s formative and most productive years influencing both his work and his view of the world. During the early to mid-20th Century an explosive evolution and experimentation in art\, science\, literature\, politics\, architecture\, philosophy\, and technology began to take place. Once thought of as a revolutionary\, Einstein slowly became the ‘old guard’ of scientific advancement\, butting heads with the developers of quantum mechanics as he continued to search for the elusive unified field theory of everything. It is against this backdrop that we see Albert Einstein search for answers through the solace of his music. \nThomas Schuch is a native of Los Alamos\, New Mexico\, and began his formal acting training at the University of Washington\, a national leader in theater training.  After getting his B.A. in Drama\, Mr. Schuch continued his studies at the Harvey Lembeck Comedy Improv Workshop in L.A.  He then returned to Albuquerque and helped found two regional performance troupes; Surely You Jest (comedy improv) and Shakespeare-On-The-Halfshell.   \nMr. Schuch has appeared in numerous films and TV series including Blood Thinner Than Water (written and directed by Alan Arkin)\, Five Dollars a Day\, Mall Cop\, Doubting Thomas\, Better Call Saul\, Manhattan\, In Plain Sight\, Wildfire\, Longmire\, and The Night Shift\, as well as many national and regional commercials\, and more than sixty plays.  A leader in the New Mexico performing arts community and a member of Actors Equity Association\, Mr. Schuch is a founding member of Albuquerque’s innovative Mother Road Theatre Company\, where he served as Board President and Director of Marketing in addition to performing in The Weir\, Memory of Water\, The Seafarer\, The Illusion\, and other Mother Road productions.  He now sits on the board of q-Staff Theatre and is the 1st Vice President of the SAG-AFTRA NM Local.  \nThrough his own company\, Spoli Productions International\, LLC\, Tom has been performing and producing the award winning\, one-man show Einstein: A Stage Portrait internationally since 2001.  From Albuquerque to Bangalore\, India Tom has presented his Einstein Live! I was in Robertson & Sons Violin Shop in Albuquerque and speaking with one of the sons when he mentioned they were repairing one of Einstein’s violins. He asked if I’d like to see it. Of course\, I said\, “yes!” The violin was in pieces and looked rather ordinary. But\, I learned that Einstein had not only made simple repairs to his violin\, but had also left behind a tidbit of his sense of humor.  ~TS \nThe Story \nAccompanied by his favorite classical music\, Einstein begins to repair his precious violin\, ’Lina.’ All the while he talks to a soon to be revealed muse about his love for music and its influence on his life and work. I was in Robertson & Sons Violin Shop in Albuquerque and speaking with one of the sons when he mentioned they were repairing one of Einstein’s violins. He asked if I’d like to see it. Of course\, I said\, “yes!” The violin was in pieces and looked rather ordinary. But\, I learned that Einstein had not only made simple repairs to his violin\, but had also left behind a tidbit of his sense of humor.  ~TS \nThe Story \nAccompanied by his favorite classical music\, Einstein begins to repair his precious violin\, ’Lina.’ All the while he talks to a soon to be revealed muse about his love for music and its influence on his life and work. Through Einstein’s words and the beautiful precision of a classical music we celebrate the coming together of art\, science\, and love. \n“I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music…I get (the) most joy in life out of music.”  Albert Einstein \nThe Times \nEnormous changes in the world were taking place during Einstein’s formative and most productive years influencing both his work and his view of the world. During the early to mid-20th Century an explosive evolution and experimentation in art\, science\, literature\, politics\, architecture\, philosophy\, and technology began to take place. Once thought of as a revolutionary\, Einstein slowly became the ‘old guard’ of scientific advancement\, butting heads with the developers of quantum mechanics as he continued to search for the elusive unified field theory of everything. It is against this backdrop that we see Albert Einstein search for answers through the solace of his music. \nThomas Schuch is a native of Los Alamos\, New Mexico\, and began his formal acting training at the University of Washington\, a national leader in theater training.  After getting his B.A. in Drama\, Mr. Schuch continued his studies at the Harvey Lembeck Comedy Improv Workshop in L.A.  He then returned to Albuquerque and helped found two regional performance troupes; Surely You Jest (comedy improv) and Shakespeare-On-The-Halfshell.   \nMr. Schuch has appeared in numerous films and TV series including Blood Thinner Than Water (written and directed by Alan Arkin)\, Five Dollars a Day\, Mall Cop\, Doubting Thomas\, Better Call Saul\, Manhattan\, In Plain Sight\, Wildfire\, Longmire\, and The Night Shift\, as well as many national and regional commercials\, and more than sixty plays.  A leader in the New Mexico performing arts community and a member of Actors Equity Association\, Mr. Schuch is a founding member of Albuquerque’s innovative Mother Road Theatre Company\, where he served as Board President and Director of Marketing in addition to performing in The Weir\, Memory of Water\, The Seafarer\, The Illusion\, and other Mother Road productions.  He now sits on the board of q-Staff Theatre and is the 1st Vice President of the SAG-AFTRA NM Local.  \nThrough his own company\, Spoli Productions International\, LLC\, Tom has been performing and producing the award winning\, one-man show Einstein: A Stage Portrait internationally since 2001.  From Albuquerque to Bangalore\, India Tom has presented his Einstein Live! DESCRIPTION:Bad Mouth words | music | feelings \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, September 28 | 7 p.m. \nGREGORY MARTIN is the author of the memoir Stories for Boys\, a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers \npick and the Seattle Reads One City\, One Book selection for 2013. Martin’s first book\, Mountain City\, received a Washington State Book Award\, was named a New York Times Notable Book\, and is referred to by some people in Mountain City as “the book.” Martin’s work has appeared in such magazines as The Sun\, Image\, Kenyon Review Online\, Witness\, and the Los Angeles Review of Books. He teaches creative writing at the University of New Mexico. \nCATHERINE STRISIK is the author of Insectum Gravitis\, The Mistress\, winner of the 2017 New Mexico- \nArizona Book Award in Poetry; Thousand-Cricket Song; and a manuscript-in-progress\, Caterina. Strisik’s poems appear in Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion\, Poet Lore\, Drunken Boat\, Connotation Press: An Online Artifact\, and elsewhere\, and have been translated into Persian and Greek. Strisik has received grants\, honors\, and prizes from CutThroat\, Peregrine\, Comstock Review\, The Southwest Literary Center\, and ThePuffin Foundation\, as well as residencies at the Vermont Studio Center\, Truchas Peaks Place\, and Christ in the Desert Monastery. \n\n\nq-Staff Theatre | 400 Broadway S.E. \nCHRISTINA SOCORRO YOVOVICH \nlives in Albuquerque\, New Mexico. \nShe has an MFA in poetry and nonfiction and her poetry has appeared in journals such as Blue Mesa Review and River Styx. Her nonfiction has appeared in Mutha Magazine. She is at work on a memoir of her mental \nillness and parenting. \n\n\n \n\n\nZACK FREEMAN is a looping\, sampling acapella performer. He’s been looping in New Mexico since \n2004. While primarily a beatboxer/vocal percussionist\, Zack also is a serious lyricist. He takes the struggles of the ordinary and brings them to center stage\, placing the humanity in a groove that moves the heart and body. The majority of his inspiration comes from his life as a husband and father and son in a mixed race family. Zack has appeared on America’s Got Talent and the Jerry Lewis Telethon in addition to performing all over the United States at colleges\, fairs\, and festivals. But that was a long time ago\, and now he mostly goes to work and tries to keep up with his teenager. Zack is a simple person trying to explain complex problems… which is why he uses beatboxing to make one-sidedarguments through music.
